Golden Key volunteers serve Manhattan and Ogden for their Regional Summit

On February 10 over fifty volunteers came together for the Golden Key Regional Summit, held at Kansas State.  As part of their summit, these volunteers served children at four different service sites; Ogden Community Center, Manhattan Public Library, Douglass Community Center and the Ogden House of Hope. Here’s what the volunteers had to say about their experience!

Share a memorable moment from the project:

  • Watching the kids and their faces light up
  • Enjoyed spending time with our conference delegates while helping Ogden Friendship House of Hope, GREAT experience!
  • Even this was for tweens/teens, the 1 mother in attendance was thrilled with the soap experiment.  It will help her in making memorable homemade laundry soap.
  • Loved our time at the library! Staff was wonderful to attendees, us and so much fun!
  • Sorting through the clothes and finding some really cute thinks.  Feeling that we made an impact. Great experience!
  • I enjoyed getting to meet people from the community.
  • Learning the history of the Ogden House of Hope
  • Meeting new people in Golden Key
  • Working with Golden Key members from other chapters
  • Knowing that what we’re doing is going to help kids and their education- I thought it went well!
  • I had a chance to meet other students.
  • Finding some old books from 1930′s!
  • Watching Mary Ann smile!
  • Wonderful kids
  • I made oobleck with a little girl and her face lit up!
  • Great project!
  • I read books with the children and they had a great time.
  • Hearing the laughter of children as we washed their feet.  This was  very positive experience! Great sense of community :)
  • Great to be helpful in multiple ways
  • Reading with 3 of the girls about princesses
  • Watching the kids get their feet painted
